Musical Theatre Students Create 'From Now On' Tribute

Across the country, theatre productions from Broadway to school musicals are being postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In early March, students at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts went on Spring Break with the assumption that they’d be back performing with their friends in a week. Unfortunately, as with many other students across the country, that did not happen. The students from the musical theatre department at DASOTA came together to student produce a video cover of the song From Now On from The Greatest Showman during this time of isolation, as a love letter to their passions that they had to put on hold, but more importantly, to each other. While we do not know for how long we will be apart, we wanted to remind one another and artists everywhere that we would indeed “come back home, home again.” Till then, to quote Stephen Sondheim's "Sweeney Todd," “if (we) cannot fly, let (us) sing.” Video Editing by Sydney Copeland and Mallorie Sievert Music Direction by Curtis Powell, Mallorie Sievert, and Sydney Copeland Choreography by Anna Beyer Featuring: 10th, 11th and 12th Grade Musical Theatre Students from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.
