DA Musical Theatre Student Wins Concert on the Green Vocal Competition

For the second year in a row, Junior Musical Theater major, Sydney Copeland, has won the Concert on the Green vocal competition for Clay County. She will be performing with the Jacksonville Symphony on Sunday, May, 26th. Sydney is very excited to represent Douglas Anderson and the musical theater dept.

Concert on the Green is a non-profit organization that holds an annual competition drawing attention to the fine arts and awarding college scholarship money to exceptional performers in Clay County. Each year on Memorial Day Weekend, a large outdoor event is held culminating with fireworks and a performance by the Jacksonville Symphony. The 1st place winners of the vocal and instrumental senior divisions, will not only win scholarship money, but will receive the opportunity to perform with the Jacksonville Symphony. The students, along with their private teachers and high schools, will be recognized at the event.
